NEW YORK 5TH AVENUE

New York 5th Avenue by @fragrancedubois is deffinetely the most upscale fragrance that I currently own. It was launched in 2020 and the nose behind it is non other than @shadisamra

Top notes are Rose and Bergamot; middle notes are Caramel, Violet and Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha; base notes are Cashmere Wood, Musk, Vanilla and Guaiac Wood.

To me this opens straight up woody, and even though it is not listed I detect some Oud as well, or it might be the Guaiac Wood giving it some smoky woody aspect. It opens up pretty strong, but settles down pretty quickly and the Caramel starts to shine, but it never becomes too sweet, it adds the overall composition a layer of warm sweetness. The Caramel is accompanied by a Rose note, that is perfectly unisex and makes this fragrance very elegant and sophisticated. And the third note that stands out to me is the Cashmere Wood that wraps all the other notes and holds them together.
The overall fragrance wears like a beautiful coat around the wearer. The longevity is amazing, it lasts for hours and hours and the sillage remains moderate throughout the life of the fragrance, which is a good thing because it is not too loud, so you won't annoy anybody and those around you will deffinetely pick it up.
It feels warm, inviting and very elegant. Deffinetely leaning towards the colder months due to the nature of the scent and to me this is a special occasion scent.
